CineFriendz utilizes the TMDB API to provide rich metadata, including movie titles, plot summaries, release dates, genres, official posters, backdrops, and cast/crew information.
All movie-related intellectual property, trademarks, and copyright assets remain the property of their respective studios and creators. For more information about TMDB, visit themoviedb.org.
User Reviews & Data Imports
CineFriendz allows users to write custom movie reviews, rate first vs. second half pacing, and import their own personal movie watch history (including CSV exports generated by users from third-party services like Letterboxd).
Users retain full ownership of their reviews, personal notes, and logs. CineFriendz does not scrape third-party websites without user action; all import operations are initiated directly by individual account holders using their own exported data files.
CineFriendz is an independent platform and is not affiliated, sponsored, or endorsed by Letterboxd Limited or any other movie logging service.
Information We Collect
- Account Details: When you register on CineFriendz, we collect your email address, username, display name, and avatar.
- Movie Activity: Watch records, re-ranking challenge choices, custom lists, and reviews you publish.
- Analytics: Anonymous usage metrics via Google Analytics to help us diagnose bugs and optimize platform performance.

You have the right to request access to, update, or permanently delete your account and associated review data at any time from within the CineFriendz application settings.
